Who We Are & Scope of this Policy
Welcome to Engline Academy ("Engline", "we", "our", or "us"). Engline is a premier online language learning platform operated by SARL Engline, a registered company headquartered in Algeria.
We provide interactive online English language education through live one-on-one individual lessons, small group conversation classes, structured pre-saved video courses, placement tests, trial sessions, and integrated student-teacher communication tools.
This Privacy Policy governs the collection, processing, and protection of personal data when you visit our website (engline.techfly.dz / engline.com), register an account, enroll in courses, attend video classes, or interact with our services. It complies fully with Algerian Law 18-07 of June 10, 2018 on the protection of individuals in the processing of personal data, as well as recognized international data protection principles (GDPR standards).
Information We Collect
To provide you with high-quality, customized educational services, we collect specific categories of personal information:
1. Account & Identification Data
Full name, email address, phone number, secure password (stored via one-way cryptographic bcrypt hashing), geographic location/country, preferred interface language, and timezone.
2. Academic Profile & Learning Progression
Initial placement test results, evaluated English proficiency level (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2), chosen learning focus (general, business, kids, speaking fluency), course format (individual 1-on-1 or group), attendance history, completed lessons, and teacher feedback notes.
3. Live Sessions & Scheduling Metadata
Chosen weekly schedule time slots, session batch size, remaining makeup quotas (for student and teacher absences), connection timestamps, and LiveKit room IDs.
4. In-Platform Chat Communications
Direct educational messages and assignment exchanges between enrolled students and their assigned instructors within the dedicated course conversation space.
5. Payment & Billing Records
Order numbers, course amounts in Algerian Dinars (DZD) or USD, payment status (Paid, Unpaid, Pending verification), invoice PDF records, and uploaded payment proof receipts (CCP slips or bank transfer confirmations). Sensitive card details (PAN, CVV) are handled exclusively by certified payment processors (SATIM/CIB) and never touch our servers.
How We Use Your Data & Legal Bases
We process your information strictly for legitimate educational, operational, and legal purposes:
- Contract Execution: To create student profiles, match you with certified teachers, schedule sessions, provide interactive virtual classroom access, manage makeup quotas, and generate course renewal options.
- Communication & Reminders: Sending automated notifications regarding upcoming sessions, schedule updates, teacher feedback, and course milestones via email, SMS, or in-app alerts.
- Quality Assurance & Safety: Monitoring connection stability, ensuring teacher compliance with pedagogy guidelines, and safeguarding student security.
- Legal & Accounting Obligations: Generating official financial invoices and audit statements as mandated by Algerian commercial and fiscal regulations.
Live Video Classes (LiveKit & WebRTC)
Our live video classes are powered by secure, modern WebRTC infrastructure (LiveKit). Connecting to a live room requires an active course enrollment and authenticated temporary security token.
Recording & Privacy Policy in Live Classes
To protect the privacy of students and professors, live video sessions are private. Students and instructors are strictly prohibited from taking unauthorized screen recordings, audio captures, or screenshots during live sessions. Any publication or distribution of live classroom footage on social media or elsewhere without explicit written consent from Engline and all participants is a serious violation that results in immediate account termination.
Student Code of Conduct & Etiquette
Engline promotes a friendly, respectful, and safe language learning environment. All users agree to adhere to our standard code of conduct:
- Maintain courteous, polite, and constructive behavior with teachers and fellow students.
- Refrain from any form of discrimination, hate speech, harassment, political proselytizing, or inappropriate language.
- Attend sessions punctually and test audio/video equipment beforehand.
- Keep private contact details confidential; educational communication must take place via the platform's secure tools.
Intellectual Property & Study Materials
All content provided on Engline — including pre-saved video lessons, course syllabi, interactive exercises, PDF summaries, slide presentations, audio clips, and logos — is the exclusive intellectual property of SARL Engline and its licensors.
Enrolled students receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the materials solely for their private educational use. You may not copy, reproduce, resell, broadcast, or republish any Engline learning content without prior written permission.
Payment Security & Financial Data
Engline offers multiple trusted payment channels tailored for Algerian and international learners:
💳 CIB & Edahabia (Online Payment)
Payments via Algerian interbank cards (CIB & Edahabia) are handled directly through certified SATIM payment gateways. Engline never accesses, sees, or stores your 16-digit card number or CVV code.
🏦 CCP & Bank Transfers
For manual payments, students upload an image or PDF of their receipt. These receipts are stored securely and accessed exclusively by authorized financial staff for payment validation.
Protection of Minors (Kids & Teens Courses)
Engline offers specialized individual and group courses for children and adolescents. We place the utmost importance on child safety:
- Minor accounts must be created and authorized by a parent or legal guardian.
- All financial transactions, subscriptions, and renewals for minors must be approved by the parent.
- All teachers assigned to kids courses undergo rigorous pedagogical and identity vetting to ensure a safe, nurturing educational experience.
- Parents retain full control over their child's account and may review, update, or request deletion of their child's information at any time.
Data Retention & Archiving
We do not retain your personal data longer than necessary for the purposes for which it was collected:
- Active Learning Account: Maintained as long as your account remains active, allowing you to access certificates, history, and course renewals.
- Inactivity: Accounts with no active subscription or login for more than three (3) consecutive years may be flagged for archival or deletion after advance notification.
- Accounting & Legal Documents: Invoices, payment orders, and financial statements are preserved in secure archives for 10 to 15 years in compliance with Article 313 of the Algerian Civil Code and tax regulations.
Third-Party Services & Subprocessors
Engline works with trusted, contractually bound technology providers to deliver our services:
- Virtual Classroom Infrastructure: LiveKit & Google Meet for encrypted real-time video audio streaming.
- Payment Gateways: SATIM and affiliated authorized banks for automated electronic payment verification.

- Transactional Notifications: Reliable SMTP mail and SMS services solely for session reminders and security verification.
